When summertime rolls around, you want your home to be as versatile as possible. Though we don’t tend to see as much sun as other countries, we still get our fair share of sunshine that can translate to some gloriously warm days. In these instances, we want the rooms in our home to be as comfortable as possible, both in temperature and in space. That’s where a lovely, spacious extension comes into play.
The Maughan family wanted a garden room they could use all year long, as well as a way to extend their kitchen. In the end, they opted to remove their old veranda and small, outdated conservatory, converting both spaces into an extra long and space-filled extension with beautiful French doors. They then transformed the rooms into a bright and airy lounge, and an especially roomy kitchen. It’s safe to say that in the Maughan household, summertime never felt so good.

Q: How long have you lived in your property?
A: 18 months.
Q: Why did you decide to have a tiled roof extension, and what will your new living space be used for?
A: We chose a tiled roof to enable us to use the extension all year as a garden room, and to extend the cramped kitchen space.
Q: Did you get a quote from any other companies? If so, what made you choose Anglian?
A: No – we used Anglian previously and were impressed with the initial design ideas. The salesman and surveyor spent a lot of time achieving our targets.
Q: Before contacting Anglian, were you aware of our tiled roof extension option? If so, how?
A: No, not specifically, but we always intended to have a tiled roof.
Q: What factors determined your final choice of style and colour?
A: To match in with the existing property roof tiles. A lightweight roof system enabled more glass.
Q: What’s your opinion of the Anglian service and installation you’ve received? Did you have any concerns or requirements?
A: We got written confirmation through Anglian that planning permission was not required to satisfy our concerns. We’re very happy with the installation, particularly with the team that erected it.
Q: How has the extension improved your living space?
A: It has enlarged our living space space, both as an area to relax in with lovely views of the garden, and as a more improved layout in the kitchen.

A: Definitely.
