Looking back at #50for50

As part of the celebrations to mark Anglian Home Improvements’ 50th anniversary, we launched #50for50, a nationwide community appeal in a bid to find 50 worthy causes to support!

We were thrilled to receive almost 200 entries from community groups across the UK. From there, a panel of judges including television and radio presenter Philippa Forrester selected 50 worthy winners to receive either new windows or doors, a financial donation or another gesture of support.

Here are just a few examples of our #50for50 campaign:

The team at Stanstead Cricket Club was gifted new windows for their pavilion from Anglian to enhance their visitors’ view of play during matches.

The Life Centre, a Bradford organisation that works in partnership with the community to deliver a diverse range of activities and services through the year, received five new uPVC double-glazed windows to upgrade its community centre offices.

Stepping Stones DS, a charity that works with children and young people with Down’s Syndrome in the Hampshire area, received much-needed support from Anglian in the form of a £500 donation.

Chatterbox Norwich Talking Newspaper, a charity that provides audio publications for blind and visually-impaired people, received a helping hand from us in the form of a new front door for their headquarters.

Rachael Munby, Marketing Director for Anglian Home Improvements, said: “As a company we’re passionate about giving back to the community, so we thought it was only fitting to commemorate our 50th anniversary by offering to support a variety of deserving causes.

“It was our pleasure to lend a helping hand to so many fantastic organisations and charities, and to support and celebrate all those groups that make a difference to the lives of many – many of which are volunteer-led and have to work very hard for extra funding. It has been very rewarding to see the positive impact our financial contributions and product donations have made on 50 community groups across the UK.”

We love getting involved in our communities! Read more about Support for Sport, our latest campaign, here.
