#ProjectSpotlight: Solid roof extension

Unused garden space? With the exception of this summer and the, shall we say, extensive heat, this is a problem many of us have in the UK. It’s also a problem that the Ruffle family faced. With a garden that doesn’t get much sun, nobody really wanted to spend much time in it.

The solution? Transform your garden into an indoor space. At least that’s what the Ruffles did – they added a brand new living space in the form of a solid roof extension to the back of their house, eliminating garden space that was otherwise going ignored. The extension comes complete with bi-fold doors and a tiled roof. Plus, the bricks used were picked to specially match the existing house, so the transition between old and new is totally seamless. With a space as lovely as this, that old garden space certainly won’t be missed.

#ProjectSpotlight before and after

Here’s what the Ruffle family had to say before their solid roof extension:

Q: What was the reason for wanting to have an extension?

A: I always wanted to extend the property at the rear because our garden doesn’t really get any sun, so we rarely used it. Having the extension meant that we now use the space that was always unused.

Q: What was the most important thing for you when considering an extension?

A: The most important thing for me when considering having the extension built was the cost and ensuring that I spent within my means. Anglian were able to offer us an extension at the right price.

Q: Did you receive quotes from more than one company?

A: I didn’t get any quotes from any other company.

Q: What was it that made you choose Anglian?

A: Anglian came and knocked on my door offering me a quotation for a driveway, and while they were there, I mentioned the extension. Anglian gave me a quotation that was at the right price, so I went ahead without considering any further companies.

And here’s what they had to say after:

Q: Were you happy with the service you received from Anglian?

A: The installers that constructed the extension were excellent. I was very pleased with everything they did.

Q: What is your favourite feature of the extension, and what is the reason for this?

A: My favourite feature of the extension is the bi-fold doors. They really open up the room and bring the outdoors in.

Q: What is the main benefit from having an extension?

A: The main benefit of the extension is that the unused space in the garden is now a room that we can use at all times.

Q: Has your Anglian extension improved the appearance/saleability of the property?

A: I haven’t had the house valued since the extension was built, but I do hope so. The extra room is a great asset, and will improve the saleability of the property.

Q: Would you recommend Anglian?

A: Yes, I would definitely recommend Anglian to my friends and family. They did an excellent job.
