#ProjectSpotlight: Solid panel roof replacement

The Chamberlains first installed their Anglian conservatory in the mid-1990s – 24 years later, they were ready for an update. Enter in a solid panel roof replacement, a simple way to modernise a conservatory without having to start from scratch.

The family uses the conservatory as a lounge, so ensuring there’s enough light was crucial. They added Solaroof panels in between the solid roof panels so that both rooms enjoy maximum light. Even in the Autumn, they were already getting more use out of their conservatory than before – once Spring and Summer roll around, it’ll be the star of their home.

Here’s what Mr. and Mrs. Chamberlain had to say about their conservatory’s solid panel roof replacement before installation:

Q: How long have you lived in your property?

A: 45 years.

Q: Please can you explain why you decided to have your existing conservatory roof replaced with a new roof?

A: Our Anglian conservatory had reached the age of 24 years and the structure was still in very good condition, but we felt the polycarbonate roof could be modernised to improve the versatility of the space.

Before and after roof

Q: Did you get a quote from any other companies? If so, what made you choose Anglian?

A: No other quotes were obtained, but we looked extensively at other roof replacement systems online and decided Anglian offered the best system.

Q: Before contacting Anglian, were you aware of the roof options that we offer? If so, how?

A: We were aware of Anglian products from a mailshot brochure, “The Revolutionary Way to Transform your Conservatory”.

Interior roof panels

Q: What factors determined your final choice of style, colour and material?

A: The solid panel replacement option most suited our requirements to maximise light to the dining room (to which the conservatory is attached) by incorporating some solar glass panels into the new roof.

And here’s what they had to say after:

Q: What’s your opinion of the Anglian service and installation you’ve received? Did you have any particular concerns or requirements? E.g. planning permission.

A: All aspects of the service were excellent. Third party statutory approvals were obtained by Anglian, and when installation commenced the fitters were highly professional and a credit to the company.

Before and after interior

Q: How has the new roof replacement helped improve the existing living space?

A: The solid roof has helped incorporate the conservatory into a more useable part of the house.

Q: Do you use the room more now than before your roof replacement?

A: Replacement of the roof took place in October/November, and we are able to use the space more already and would expect greater use in the Spring and Summer than previously.

Q: Would you recommend Anglian to your friends and family?

A: Certainly. We could not fault the company from start to finish. We have very much enjoyed our Anglian conservatory over the last 24 years and feel sure that the new roof will enable us to get greater use out of it over many years to come.
