#ProjectSpotlight: Orangery with bi-fold doors

When Mr. and Mrs. King decided to add a new orangery to their home in Kings Mill, West Malling, they were dreaming big. The couple wanted a structure that would not only blend seamlessly with their existing property, but create a bigger living space for family visits and take advantage of patches in the garden that were going to waste.

Enter in their new Anglian orangery. It’s a stunning little space whose brick exterior perfectly matches the whole of the house. Bi-fold doors mean it’ll be nice and airy in warmer months, while its Solaroof helps manage the sun’s rays and protect furniture inside. Sprinkle in opulent details like a plush sofa in soft velvet and a twinkling chandelier, and this orangery has become a space that’s as stylish as it is functional.

Here’s what Mr. and Mrs. King had to say about their new orangery:

Q: Why did you decide to add an orangery to your home?

A: We had unused garden space and wanted to expand the property.

Q: What made you contact Anglian in the first place?

A: Anglian has a good reputation and is a large company.

Q: Did you speak to any other companies, and if so, what made you decide to choose Anglian?

A: We spoke to a couple of other companies but decided to go with Anglian because they were within our budget. We also felt safer going with a large company.

Q: Can you tell us if or how the visit from the sales representative helped you in your decision?

A: The sales representative was very helpful and knew what he was talking about. We already had an idea of what we wanted and the representative could provide it.

Q: What factors determined your final choice of style, colour and material?

A: We wanted something in keeping with the house. We didn’t want the orangery to look stuck on the side of the property and it doesn’t. The bricks are a perfect match so it goes well with the whole house.

Q: What’s your opinion of the Anglian service and installation you’ve received? Did you have any particular concerns or requirements?

A: The service and installation that we received were brilliant. The property is a new development so there was a lot of planning permission needed – three approvals in total. However, Anglian took care of it all, and that’s what we wanted – to be able to rely on someone to complete everything.

Q: What’s the BEST thing about your new installation and what main differences have you noticed since having your installation? I.e. energy bills, is it warmer, was the sound reduced, etc.

A: It has made the garden more useable as the orangery opens up into it. It’s more of a family area for everyone and has opened up the kitchen.
