Coming up this weekend is the annual RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, a UK-wide event in which the charity asks adults and children to spot and count their garden birds. It’s the world’s largest wildlife survey, and Sainsbury’s Bank has created a fun and child-friendly guide to building a bottle bird feeder to help.
Not only is it an easy way to get the whole family birdwatching, but it’s also an excellent activity to help out our feathered friends during the colder months. So grab a plastic bottle and some coloured pencils, and start counting your garden birds!
It’s not just the birds we need to help out during the colder winter months, there is a whole plethora of wildlife in your garden that could do with a little helping hand. From creating log piles to preparing soil for the summer, all of which will create a home, food source and protection from the elements.
