How to use Laura Ashley to decorate your bedroom

Following on from our first article about using Laura Ashley to decorate your living room, with advice from Jenny Taylor and Kerri-Ann Hargreaves, we’re moving to the bedroom. In this article we have more advice from the lovely blogger Jenny Taylor and we welcome Emma Martin from Life at the Little Wood to Good to be Home.

Laura Ashley have a great range of paints, wallpapers and accessories for bedrooms to create a relaxing space. With so many natural designs on wallpaper and even windows with the new Laura Ashley Decorative Glass range, calming paint colours and elegant lighting at your disposal, there’s no reason you can’t carve out your own little paradise.

When it comes to master bedrooms, I like to go with deeper colours that will create a romantic  and cosy space. After all, it’s a place you should snuggle up in and feel calm and collected. Unlike my entire house which is mostly light grey and cream, my master bedroom has been designed with a warmer touch in mind.

I have integrated the grey and white in my bedding so as you move about the house it still coordinates. For my master bedroom, I chose the curtains first and used it as my focal point for the design.

I painted the walls the darkest colour of the stripes, the bedding matches the white and grey stripes and the lighter cream is pulled into the bed with this crochet Laura Ashley throw on the bottom of it and headboard.  Next, I added black Laura Ashley beside tables with matching Laura Ashley lamps and a chandelier to break up the neutral colours. I added gold home accessories like the gold Laura Ashley frames of the kids to make it feel warmer and give it a rich look. I think the neutral colours here with black furniture really make each piece stand out.

Creating a restful environment in the bedroom is really important to aid sleep.  Laura Ashley have a beautiful range of linens and wall coverings that bring the outside in, and calm the senses.

Crisp white bedlinen, teamed with florals and natural elements bring a little Spring/ Summer to your sleeping space, even when the weather is grey!

We used Summer Palace Garden wallpaper in Linen for our bedroom space and I particularly love the bright florals against a neutral background.  We kept everything else quite muted in the room, and it works beautifully with our exposed brick fireplace too!
